Michael H. Brisman, MDMichael H. Brisman, MD, Neurosurgeon is Co-Medical Director of the Long Island Gamma KnifeĀ®. He is a graduate of Harvard University and earned his medical degree at Columbia University. He completed his neurosurgical residency at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in New York where he was appointed Chief Resident in his last year of residency, and completed his gamma knife training at the University of Pittsburgh. Dr. Brisman is a leading neurosurgeon on Long Island who specializes in stereotactic and radiosurgery techniques for the treatment of brain tumors. He has a subspecialty in the diagnosis and treatment of facial pain including trigeminal neuralgia. Dr. Brisman is Chair of the weekly GK multidisciplinary pretreatment evaluation conference at which the films and history of every patient are reviewed and discussed by neurosurgeons, radiation oncologists, interventional radiologists, onco-psychologists and Gamma Knife nurses. Dr. Brisman has authored and co-authored numerous journal articles, abstracts and book chapters in the field of neurosurgery. He was a key proponent in bringing the Long Island Gamma Knife to South Nassau. |
